When choosing the sole of the occupational safety shoe, the necessary information about the working environment must be obtained. For example, neotril or nitrile sole should be chosen in working environments with high temperature, acid and alkali. Occupational safety shoes with double density polyurethane soles should be preferred for slip resistance, shock absorption and comfort. Fungal infection is the most common problem related to the use of occupational shoes. However, it should be kept in mind that this problem mostly stems from the lack of knowledge regarding hygiene rules and/or non-compliance with them. In addition, one of the most important reasons why employees avoid wearing occupational shoes is their weight. For this reason, when choosing occupational shoes, care should be taken that the shoes are not heavy (maximum 1 kg/pair).
